Circuit City, the US electronics superstore chain, is buying Canadian retailer InterTAN's for $284m cash.

This is likely in response to Best Buy's purchase of Future Shop last year (year before?). Independent computer stores are still the cheapest place to buy stuff, but I usually go to Future Shop to actually touch/feel products.
