Drupal Module

Boris, the Drupal Module (the module that allows you to log in with any Drupal ID) doesn't seem to be working with this new install you've got running. Kind of annoying.

module to login as any user?

I was looking for just that functionality! I have an admin account that can create drupal accounts, and it would be sweet if that account could "become" any of those users he creates. Where do I find such a module? Can you email me at superjoe@gmail.com ?

Err...

I think you're confused. Your admin account (or anyone with "admin node" permission) can easily change the ownership of any content, as well as edit users, etc. -- no need to "become" them.

The Drupal module just lets you login to other sites with your home Drupal site's username and password -- e.g. myusername@myotherdrupalsite.com would let you login here to my site.

ah

now I see what you are talking about. Still I think such a "switch-user" module would be helpful. Allows admin to see *exactly* what the user is seeing when doing support. Also allows admin to make posts on user's behalf with ownership showing up as user. I have used another system that does have the user switching capability and it comes in handy from time to time. The tricky part for the system is to act like you are the user, but still know that you have switched into it from admin so it gives a path back to becoming admin again in the ui. That's probably quite a bit of work for maybe not enough gain, so I doubt we'll see it.

Just use a second browser

I do this all the time for testing -- sign in as another user in another browser -- like Safari and Firefox, or IE and Firefox if you're on Windows.

And again, you *can* post as another user if you have permission -- just change the "Author" field before you publish.

Yes, it's unlikely to be included anytime soon.

Well it's working again. Nic

Well it's working again. Nice work. Did you upgrade the Drupal code again? Not too sure about these colours though... ;)

I was running a sort of in-between version of code where many things weren't working. More things should be working now, but there are lots of third-party contrib modules that still need updating.

The template will be changed to something completely different, once I find some time.

The "new install" is very, ve

The "new install" is very, very crufty at the moment -- I'm running a sort of "in-between" version of code, which was kind of a stupid thing to do, but I really needed the site not to be so freakin' slow anymore.

It will work again at some point...
