I've been thinking about this for quite some time, and today decided to put pixel to screen and document it.
Basically, the concept is for a website, called something like whohasmybirthday.com. It's purpose would be to centralize birthdays.
You could go to the site, enter your own birthday, search for birthdays on different days, etc.
RSS feeds would be available, with different categories. So, you might want to choose "scientists", "inventors", "politicians", or the every popular, "celebrities".
The reason I came up with the idea is that I know almost a dozen people that have the same birthday as me -- February 22nd. One of them, Drew Barrymore, was born on the exact same day, in 1975.
Update: I need to add some more info here. WHMB is registered to me now, and I have a placeholder up. But, I think it will be broader than "just" birthdays, mainly with the use of FOAF and buddies (so potentially addresses and other information as well). Check the top of this section for all the related items.

Highschool
I had 11 people in my highschool, in my grade no less, that all had my birthday. It was like a party in my grade when that day rolled around, balloons in every hall, surprises, people singing, etc. It was ... unusual. Kinda one of those "follow the white rabbit" moments.
Popular Birthdate
Graham, you make me curious, WHAT is your birthdate that so many people would be born on the same day? At work, our most popular birthday month is May.
